Our one of a kind upholstered pieces are the furniture of choice for many discerning clients.

Each piece is hand-picked through sourcing trips in England and France and then brought back to our
workshop in Cornwall to be restyled and restored. Each piece is traditionally restored and upholstered to
the highest standard, using all natural, chemical free, materials.
All our pieces are completely unique, so you are always buying a true one-of-a-kind Waite Atelier.

We represent true artisan craftsmanship, specialising in antique restoration and beautiful modern furniture design. We are dedicated to residential and commercial clients who value uncompromising quality, heritage and artistry. With over twenty years of master upholstery experience, we approach every commission as an exercise in perfectionism; bridging classic structural integrity for refined, periodor contemporary living spaces.
Our Atelier Approach
Every project, whether a modern sofa, rare antique or a custom architectural piece, receives meticulous, hands-on attention. Rejecting modern synthetic shortcuts, our workshop is rooted in traditional methods dating back to the 18th century: hand-tied coil springs, multi-layered natural fibres, precise hand-stitching, and age old wood finishing techniques. We create furniture designed not just to occupy a room, but to stand the test of time both in terms of style and durability.
Conscientious Luxury
True comfort should never compromise your health or the environment. We specialise in chemical-free, natural-fibre upholstery. We work with new and traditional, sustainable, materials. We aim to make all our pieces breathable and chemical free, using horsehair, coir, latex, pure wool waddings and layering in a way to ensure comfort that lasts. We ensure your furniture is healthy for your indoor environment whilst being as sustainable as possible.

Craftsmanship
Using increasingly rare skills we restore and create furniture of the highest standard. Honouring artisanal, traditional upholstery techniques our work is hand webbed, hand sprung, hand stitched, hand finished so you it can be handed down for generations.
We use traditional tailoring techniques, so the fabric is fitted perfectly with precise pattern-matching and meticulous hand finishing. Because a chair is not just a chair, it is a source of comfort, it’s a place where memories are made and it should always be a thing of beauty.
